In another words, time has come to share with you all that a journey towards our next saluki litter has officially started and that our trip to Italy, to meet beautiful Oman is planned. Here comes an update for you who are, just like me, (un)patiently waiting for Dottie to get in heat. It can’t be so far away now I think. Dottie is peeing more often during our walks and she is showing interest larger than usual in the boys we meet on our walks. Our dogs are also smelling her under her tail several times a day. They also jump on her and today she also jumped on Lo. They usually don’t do these things except when being in heat or close to it. I will for sure keep you posted as…

A life of a breeder is a long list of searching, planning and waiting…. Searching for the best match for your bitch – I have no clue how many hours I spent searching through data bases, reading pedigrees, staring at pictures, watching videos to see movements, talking with fellow breeders, all in a search for that perfect match that feels right in the heart. What usually happens is that when I find a boy that I like he is too close relative to my bitch. This is nothing strange as we all have types we love and are looking for.…

Happy weekend dear readers!
On Sunday it will be six months since Dottie’s last heat. So now we are really close to it. Or not. It was seven months between her two last heats so she really knows how to keep me on my toes. I just hope that she can wait until we visit Växjö International dog show where I hope that she will get her last CACIB. It would be so nice if she could add International Beauty Champion (C.I.B) to her titles before she becomes a mother.

Litter plans for spring 2025!
I am so happy to share that time has come to plan for the new generation at Sommarvindens Kennel! ***Updated plans: As Dottie got too stressed by 2 days trip to Italy which resulted in her not being “ready” at all (or her flying through her “ready” period while being on the road) we now have updated litter plans. These plans are for Oman and SE CH DK CH Sommarvindens Wish Upon A Star *Lo*. Lo is NCL clear (N/N) by parentage, just like her sister, and her hearth will be checked in January. Litter plans for 2025
I am happy to share the news that I finally found a perfect match for Dottie. I am not sure if she knows what is coming but I hope to be able to take her on a date with the boy at her next heat which is to come around mid October – mid November. That would mean puppy birth in January and them being ready to move to their new families in March. Dottie is NCL free by parentage and time is booked for check of her heart.
