• Just an ordinary work day

Lo and our three Italians in the small dog bed placed on the top of IKEA’s side table “Lack”. This table is placed just left from my work desk and we have one large dog bed under David’s and mine work desk and two more large dog beds on the short end. So no-one can say that they lack sleeping space… And the funny thing is that this bed is always either totally empty or crowded like this. It is never half full.

  • Whaaat??

Why do you say that I am not allowed to sit on Lo? She apparently does not care at all!

  • Happy news from Denmark!

Earlier today at Danish Sighthound club’s dog show in Strøby Sommarvindens girls did well: SE CH, DK CH Sommarvindens Star Of Milky Way *Dottie* was BB-1 and BOB! (19 salukis entered). Sommarvindens Wish Upon A Star *Lo* won open class (6 bitches entered) and ended up as BB-2! Lo is now also a brand new DANISH CHAMPION! Unfortunately we couldn’t stay until the finals. We are so grateful to the judge Edwina Joy Thomas, Australia, for appreciating our girls! Huge thanks also to our own Saga for beautiful handling, as always!

  • Happy 3rd b-day dear babies in Star litter

Oh my how time flies! On this day, 3 years ago, 10 little stars were born. Huge happy birthday to our first saluki litter – Sommarvindens Star litter! We love you all to the moon and back! Huge thank you to your dear owners for loving you and giving you perfect homes.

  • Happy news from IDS in Roskilde, DK

Happy news from Danish Kennel Club’s international dog show in Roskilde today! Sommarvindens Wish Upon A Star *Lo* won Open class and ended up as the BB-2 with CAC and R-CACIB. Huge thank you to the judge Nicklas Eriksson, SE (kennel Qirmizi) for liking Lo so much. Lo was beautifully shown by Aiste.

  • Sisters

Dottie and Lo, sisters we kept from our first saluki litter. They are always together and if one of them is not in the house, which happens when we deliberately take only one out for training for example, the other one is crying after her sister most of the time. They are sisters and very beautiful but still quite different in their look and how they move. I love them both equally as they remind me about the type diversity of saluki breed.

  • More happy news :)

Oh my what Ester we got! Today at Swedish Kennel Club’s Int. Dog show in Malmö Sommarvindens Star Of Milky Way *Dottie* came first in Open class and became BB-1 with CAC and CACIB and was later placed as BOS. Dottie was handled by our own sweetest Saga. Her sister Sommarvindens Wish Upon A Star *Lo* came just behind her sister in Open Class and was later placed as BB-2 with R-CAC and R-CACIB. Lo was beautifully handled by dear Marie Frisén. Huge thank you to the judge Leni Finne for liking our girls.

  • That moment…

That moment when you run so fast and then stop in a second just to discover that your ear didn’t follow what you were doing…

  • Two more in heat

Earlier today Lo got in heat and in the evening we noticed that even our youngest, Bianca, is in heat. Of entire pack now only Tesla and Oonah have not started. Tesla is not so precise in her heats as she is an azawakh and they often get in heat just once a year but I am so sad that Oonah is being several weeks late with her heat. Now we hope that the other two will drag her into heat so to say.

  • Colour DNA of Lo and Dottie

As you most likely know by now both David and me are very interested in colour genetics of salukis. For this reason we colour test all our salukis. We already knew what Oonah’s colour code is so three weeks ago we ordered a test of her daughters Lo and Dottie and now we got the results. I would like to also mention that we always order colour tests from The Veterinary Genetics Laboratory (VGL). The VGL is a non-profit, self-supporting unit of the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, Davis, US. Dottie’s colour code is: Eg/e – one…
